Candy Koh (they/she) is an artist, writer, translator, tarot reader, and attorney based in New York City.

As an artist, they create energy diffusers/snapshots of time/space, often with an active refusal to make references to anything but the visceral. Their works reference the hybrid spiritual/collective-identity-forging roles that artists traditionally played across various human civilizations throughout history, and questions how contemporary artists might embody that role under contemporary conditions. At the same time, the artist is hyper-aware of our existence being inextricably bound to a specific time and space - a signature element of their works is a date and weather (and sometimes time) stamp. They work in a variety of mediums such as drawing / painting, sculpture, photo / video, installation, and performance. They have shown their work at solo and group exhibitions in both New York City and Seoul, Korea.

Their writing has appeared in numerous art publications, such as ArtAsiaPacific, artcritical, the ordinary aesthetic, and Seaweed Journal. For their MFA thesis, they wrote β€œInvestigating the Gangnam Style Phenomenon: Global Eurocentrism, Asian Masculinity, and Psy,” which examined the representation of Asians in American visual culture, as well as the limits and possibilities of signifiers that may transcend cultural and linguistic borders.

They graduated with an MFA in Art Criticism and Writing from the School of Visual Arts, NYC, and a BA in sculpture and literature from Eugene Lang College of New School University, NYC. They hold a JD from the Fordham University School of Law, NYC, and is a licensed attorney in New York.
